Schedule not working
« on: March 19, 2021, 08:32:57 pm »
My schedule is running but it is not picking up new finished games so it never updates the site. I can update results manually and build manually but the schedule is not working.
The log shows: The scheduled job has skipped the pool file of C:\Users\wss\Documents\turbotourney\main.tt because it does not contain any new game results.

Not sure if it is the case here but if you manually update and then let the schedule run it would skip those results.  I would recommend either deleting a matchup that has finished, then saving the file and letting the schedule run to see if it works or saving where you are at and not manually updating and see what happens.

You could also upload logs here but it is hard to decipher if you are manually intervening.

I am encountering this same issue.  I'm confident I'm doing something wrong after a two year break between using this feature, but here's what I'm seeing.  Yesterday, I manually updated the results and uploaded the website about mid-evening.  I was then going to rely on the scheduler to update the pool.  According to the logs, the scheduler ran all evening as it should but skipped my pool file due to the lack of new results.  Fast forward to this morning, I cleared the log, wiped out all game results, and ran a standings report to confirm everyone was back at zero points.  In the process of that exercise, I received a message noting that my results had been cleared, and new baseline would be created.  I saved the pool file, closed the program, and then reopened the program to confirm the results were cleared.  I then ran the scheduler manually.  It opened the dialogue, downloaded the results for all 16 games, but it didn't act on those results because of the lack of new results.  Here's the log:

03/20/2021 10:06:41 AM - Schedule Job Initiated On: C:\Program Files (x86)\theSideline.com\Turbo Tourney 2021\2021 Pool Files\Primary Pool.tt
03/20/2021 10:06:46 AM - The scheduled job has skipped the pool file of C:\Program Files (x86)\theSideline.com\Turbo Tourney 2021\2021 Pool Files\Primary Pool.tt because it does not contain any new game results.
03/20/2021 10:06:46 AM - Scheduled Jobs Complete

Any ideas what I may be doing wrong here?

Thanks,

Kevin

When you say you are clearing out the game results are you also going into the Schedule and resetting the # of games played?  That's what the scheduler looks at to determine if new game results exist.

Thanks, Doug.  I'm testing that now and believe that was the source of what I was seeing in my earlier test this morning.  Working backwards, I think last night was a user error because I did not have the box checked to FTP the files after building the website.  My guess is the schedule organizer was working exactly as it should last night.  I just wasn't seeing the results because of that error.  I appreciate the assist as always.
