Turbo Tourney Pro Support Forum / NFL Week 1 Template Posted
« on: May 31, 2021, 08:47:10 am »
The NFL Week 1 Template has been posted along with the updated Template Setup for this year's season.  Before you get started with your NFL pool be sure to select the Help menu, then Check For Template Setup Changes to update Turbo Tourney Pro 2021 with the latest template configurations.  This year's setup is a little different since there are 18 weeks instead of the usual 17 weeks.

PLEASE NOTE:  if you are converting any previous season pool file to the 2021 version format it will still only be setup for 17 weeks, not 18 weeks.  To get around this, once you load your converted pool file into Turbo Tourney Pro 2021 select the Tournament menu, then Setup.  If the Tournament Settings say "Involves 17 Weeks" then switch your template to any other week in the NFL season and it should change to "Involves 18 Weeks" and click OK.  Then go back to the Tournament Setup and select the week you want, most likely Week 1, and then you will be all set.  If you have any issues/questions just let me know.

Turbo Tourney Pro Support Forum / 2021 NHL Playoff Unavailable

Due to the special re-seeding of the bracket during the NHL Playoffs the 2021 template will not be available.  If you are looking to still run something for the NHL Playoffs you might want to try RunYourPool.com's NHL Power Ranking Playoff Pool.

No way that I know of to do that with the software.  You can try experimenting with updating the HTML though I just wouldn't be able to really support that if you make changes.  It should be possible though.

TT does not have a way to support consecutive byes like that.  About all you can do is create a team called something like "ByeGame" and have them with a real Bye.  I have to do that for some of the conference tournaments.  see attached for the Conf USA tournament.  Your players will still have to make a pick for that 2nd "Bye" but since the opponent is called "ByeGame" they should know what they need to do.

Yep, all pools have the ability to save to a database and use the same tables.

When you download the results now, the program is going to think it's at the current round (after final four) so if you want to create a Round 2 pool again you'll need to remove all the game results from Round 2 and beyond so the program thinks it's only the end of Round 1.  You'll have to do the same for each round until you get back to the current round.

The same way you did after each round of the tournament.  I assume you selected the Tools menu, Create Repick Pool.  You'll need to do this for each round.

You'll have continue through to the next round and then do the same thing.

If you select the Remote menu, then TurboTourney.com Control Panel and click on Check Status.. at the bottom are options to download all of your entries again.

It would definitely not already be included in the program, the NFL template is not finalized until the full season schedule is announced.

This is how the program has always scored underdog seed difference since it was first added to the program.  It's also well documented in the Help file with a description and samples and also warns you before you enable Underdog scoring to be sure you fully understand how the scoring will work.  This rewards the player based on the risk they took and not requiring them to pick the exact matchup to be rewarded for taking that risk.

Here is the Help file description:
If you had selected Seed Difference scoring Jerry would be awarded points based on the difference in the seed numbers between the teams he actually picked (not the teams that played). So if Alabama beats Kentucky (#7 seed) Jerry would get 8 points (#15 seed - #7 seed = 8 points). If Alabama instead beats Arizona (#10 seed) Jerry would still get 8 points as it is the difference between the seed numbers of the teams Jerry picked to play.

No problem, glad we got it worked out!

If they had missed the deadline their entry would not be in the import at all.  Were you marking entries as retrieved after loading them?  If not, they would keep appearing in the import OR if they were refreshed and possibly submitted a duplicate entry.  Entries can only be imported based on whatever you choose as your primary player field.. the default being Name.

14
Sounds like you have 2 people who submitted entries using the same information.  What are you doing when a duplicate entry is found?  It sounds like you are updating the existing entry and not creating a new one which would result in 38 total entries ending up as 36 final entries accepted since 2 of them were duplicates.

Also please note the earlier mention that "the Seed Difference is awarded based on the difference in the seeds of the teams the player picked."
